Tao Berman

Our very own Tao Berman, is NEW to the WANTED judge’s panel this year! Tao is “the world’s best-known extreme kayaker” (Sports Illustrated). Tao was raised in a mountainside cabin without electricity in Washington. He spent his days mountain-biking, climbing and kayaking. Tao has held three extreme kayaking world records including the world record waterfall descent. He is regarded as the most accomplished American extreme racer in the recent history of competitive kayaking.

WANTED is an outdoor reality show that takes place right here in the beautiful and adventure-oriented Pacific NW, Contestants compete in a variety of challenging outdoor activities all the while being judged on their personality and ability to be a TV host.

The SLU Consulting division is designed to help brands and agencies engage celebrities/athletes as spokespeople in advertising, PR campaigns and promotional programs.  We have experience securing prominent celebrities for a wide variety of projects including: Super Bowl commercials, infomercial host roles and celebrity appearances.

Because we don’t directly represent the talent, our sole incentive is to deliver the best option at the best value:

JumpSnap approached SLU Consulting interesting in hiring a recognizable fitness celebrity for an upcoming fitness show.  Despite operating with a tight budget and timeline, we secured celebrity trainer Kim Lyons (from NBC’s The Biggest Loser).  

Although Kim hadn’t been on JumpSnap’s radar as a potential host, the feedback from the production was overwhelmingly positive.  We enjoyed an opportunity to provide creative celebrity talent suggestions and deliver credible talent on time and under budget.

On the 25^th anniversary of the 1985 Chicago Bears’ Super Bowl Shuffle, Boost Mobile decided to hire the original dancing and singing stars for a nostalgic remake of the iconic music video.  Sports Unlimited was hired to help coordinate the participation of the 8 NFL stars featured in the remake.

While every celebrity oriented project poses unique challenges, the scale and profile of the Super Bowl Shuffle was particularly ominous.  With less than a month to work with, SLU Consulting was tasked with proposing, contracting, and coordinating the flight/shoot schedules for the 8 (large) NFL personalities.  Despite dancing and singing prowess that remains as underwhelming as it was in ‘80’s, the 2010 version was successfully executed with the same trademark moves and bad rapping that made the original so popular.  The 30-second parody aired during the 1^st quarter of the Super Bowl.

Aside from being the former star of ABC’s hit show “The Bachelor – An Officer and a Gentleman”,  U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander Andrew Baldwin, M.D. is a Physician, Humanitarian, and Navy Diver at the Navy’s Bureau of Medicine and Surgery in Washington, D.C. where he serves as a spokesman and advocate for Navy medicine.

Additionally as an Ironman Triathlete, and National Health/Fitness Specialist, he assists the U.S. Surgeon General with his nationwide initiative to combat childhood obesity through program called “Healthy Youth for a Healthy Future.”

Participants in the Leanest Team Challenge (LTC) compete (along with other participants from other U.S. military installations) against other installations to lose weight, using the Special K Challenge® as a guide.
