On Saturday night, Sports + Lifestyle Unlimited sponsored a benefit, PARTY WITH A PURPOSE, for Kusewera.
Kusewera is a non-profit founded by SLU’s Director of Booking in Los Angeles, Karen Osborn.
It was a huge success! Celebrities that came out to support the cause included:
Courtney Cox, Castle’s Nathan Fillion, The Fosters’ Sherri Saum, Grey’s Anatomy’s Jason George and many more…
Guests enjoyed musical performances by Snow Patrol and Cary Brothers.
The bidding heated up on great silent auction items and Nathan Fillion wowed guests, raising even more funds live auctioning off personal items to fans!
A special moment of the night was when Stephen Makasu spoke. He is from Mtendere Village Orphanage, in Malawi, Africa, one of the orphanages Kusewera serves. He is Mtendere’s first child to make it into a U.S. college!
SLU owners, Molly and Dave Weiss, were on hand to enjoy the night and show SLU’s continued support.
Volunteers (including some SLU talent and LA talent coordinator, Alison) made this evening go incredibly smooth and we are grateful for the time and energy many gave to pull off such a wonderful event.
